Big Bull, good evening.

They're talking about record lows tonight in this part of Texas, which fits in with what I'm hearing about the rest of the country...A cold winter's coming - this has been confirmed by the fur on the dust bunnies under my bed.

And as for Chuck...well, he has a long and glorious history as a camera glutton, a master of pandering to public sentiment, and an all around political gigolo. But he's not known for checking his facts, or even waiting for them to come in, or even using them when they do. Remember the evil "Black Talon" bullets?

The good news is that no one pays much attention to him. I'm surprised that Bill Richardson has sent up a trial balloon on this one - normally he's a bit more level headed and deliberate about things. Maybe this is one of those internal Democrat payback things.

I don't see the Strategic Oil Reserves getting hawked any time soon, mostly because there ain't enough there anymore to make any meaningful budgetary difference. And there isn't the political will to galvanize action via public sentiment, notwithstanding the slobber coming from Chuck.

I suspect the whole thing can be explained away by a relatively slow news day. The microphone man was probably busy eating a Mars bar, and didn't notice Chuck sidling in until it was too late.

Regards to all and a pox on Democrats.
