Oh, puhleeeeeeeeeze!!!

Much more at work here than this little Ballmer dude. In case you folks haven't looked up from your monitors lately, the labor market continues to tighten, the Dow just plummeted through a key support level (10,500 - next major support: 9,400), the price of oil's going higher with OPEC rediscovering some of its old leverage, the Yen is going through the roof-further pushing inflation up, Greenspan's about to administer his usual bitter medicine to save the economy, October's around the corner, Y2K's around the next corner, and China, Russia, Latin America and the rest of the undeveloped world may very well burn to the ground come 1/1/00.

T'Aint no time to be mucking with investments in a half a t-t-t-trillion dollar company that's seen its better days. If anything, the little Ballmer dude just did all you greedy turkeys a favor in giving you fair warning.

"Buying SUNW"

they are no paragons of virtue either. they warned of y2k problem which never materialized but drove stock from 70 to 50. its all part of the game. remember these "executives"
are only looking to cover their own behinds--not yours.

regards

>>All I can say is that it takes a very special kind of a*hole to bring the whole market
down a notch or two. Ballmer just made the grade. He's a very BIG A*HOLE.
Here's hoping Linux, SUNW, Corel et al chop him down a few billion; then maybe
he'll learn that part of being a company president is to enhance shareholder value,
rather than kick shareholder's in the teeth.
BTW, Selling my MSFT. Buying SUNW with the proceeds. Who needs enemies when
you've got guys like Ballmer on your team.<<

When I make comments like yours I get flammed. I can only thank you but I must admit feeling a little guilty for expecting to be able to make any money by investing in the stock market?? I know now that Mr. Greenspan and Mr. Ballmer want us to invest and then watch our investments shrink. I guess I had this all figured out the wrong way. Now I fully understand the way it is supposed to be.

Frank

<<I have a better idea for you, take your battle to the US congress. Ask them, err, demand them to do the following:

1. Issue a gag order to stop talking anything negative about stocks by anybody. After all, that's what they have been following - in the footsteps of our beloved President.

1a. If any one violates no. 1 above, they should be imprisoned for 2 years and barred from investing for 2 years.

1b. If an international figure/rag violates rule 1, ban that person or rag in US.

2. Ban foreigners from taking their money out of US assets, even if they think that US markets are over valued (thinking is allowed, expressing is not!)

3. On a rotation basis, big investment bankers should be made incharge of the treasury and the Federal Reserve since they have the best interests of the public in mind.

4. Ban short selling or allow short selling only under a condition that shorts should not make money if they open a short position.

4a. Death to short-sellers who violate this rule and make money.
