Maybe Ballmer wants to buy MSFT shares for yearend option program for MSFT employees? I am strangely calm, so far. I note Reuters (RTRSY) took an unjustified broadside for no particular reason (I am guessing that their Instinet trading volume may be affected by all the electronic markets being setup. However, Instinet DEFINITELY does have "first mover advantage". RTRSY just need to open it up, ala IBM PC vs Apple Mac). RTRSY and E*Trade experiment starting soon. Jay got swamped by corporate clients' business planning season, paperwork gathered during SF trip, last minute arrangements for Umbria trip (yes, I may miss the entirety of October excitement as I do not know the facilities available in a 15th century castle) and a flood of thick analysys reports on B2B and Japanese Internet Tsunami.
