Stock has PE/G of 5.63

Slowing growth.

Increasing inflation pressure.
+
Falling dollar.
+
Investors starting to sell stocks before Y2K.
+
WTO rules against tax credits.
+
Boost this year for Y2k spending will make next year look bad in comparison.
+
Possible DOJ judgement against Microsoft.
+
Possibly something WILL really happen around Y2K.

You make a good point. If he was talking the stock up, I obviously wouldn't care too much. But, if he continually tried to talk up the stock I would be skeptical. I prefer it when execs say, "we don't like to comment on our stock price." Just a personal preference, that's all.
