From J. Fieb on the Fiber Channel Thread: Since BRCD has their IBM piece out today thought I'd post this......

Moving Up IBM promotes possible successor to Gerstner International Business Machines Corp. said Robert Stephenson, head of its computer server group, will retire at year's end and will be replaced on Oct. 1 by Senior Vice President Samuel Palmisano. Mr. Palmisano is group executive of IBM's Global Services unit and has been mentioned as a successor to Chief Executive Louis Gerstner. Sales of some IBM server models have fallen in the past two quarters even as sales of personal computers, services and software pick up. IBM is battling Sun Microsystems Inc. and Hewlett-Packard Co. in the market for the high-speed computers that run Internet sites and hold data on corporate networks. Analysts expect Mr. Palmisano to escalate that fight. Anyone have info on IBM's billion dollar project "sunscreen"? Please post if you have any info. Thanks....

Also rumor on IBM thread that they are working on a CSCO like deal with EMC- giving up some hardware sales for more service biz? Any info on this rumor? Thanks in advance.
