dont know who vast majority of TA types are???

Dow Theory is having a tough time of this information age economy and the "old measures"... for instance, the Dow Transports have declined steadily for weeks as a result of higher oil costs, airlines smacked in particular... is that a sign of imminent slowdown across the entire economy as it was in the 1970's??? .. many industries deliver goods now via fiberoptic and T1 lines... so how does one change the leadtime transport phenomenon???

Nasdaq in my humble opinion has supplanted the Dow Jones Industrial Index for a large degree as THE critical measure for the general stock market... the S&P more closely correlates with the Nasdaq Composite than the Dow... the Dow is full of crusty old industrials, stodgy goony stocks like Sears, toothpaste companies like Proctol & Gamble, not so mention cutting edge leaders like Gillette and slowmotion banks

I have seen about 15-20 false Dow Theory signals in the last two years... enough to convince me that Dow is nowhere, and Dow Theory needs a major rewrite to foster in the Nasdaq and the mighty US technology corporations

I repeat: the keys are Q3 gangbuster earnings around the corner,,,, interest rates which are steady,,,, the only fly in our jar is the USdollar which must stabilize

my interpretation of yesterday was October jitties coupled with a USdollar seeking stabilization, but not finding it yet

from the big tree
