There is a simple solution for those like you who feel this way. Run for office. You, Vendit, strike me as a very sincere person (albeit sometimes wrong) who is capable of running the country as you see fit. If the majority agrees with you, then you may correct the problem. If they disagree with your view of the world, then it is the right of society to provide those governmental services they want by a means they see fit. The government will never control society in this country as it necessarily reflects what most people want. There is not threat to our basic liberties. PS- Re your statements about the wonders of conservative fiscal policy, how about that emergency census put in to make them look better. And don't you find it kind of interesting that most federal projects are built in the states of influencial Republicans (Trent Lott's famous amphibious ship.)
