I agree day-to-day operational performance/motivation is connected to the stock, but this would be unrelated to a policy of not making promises or not discussing (giving guidance/opinions on) the current/future stock price.

Re: "the options haven't had the same magic"
There have been stock lulls in the past.

Re: MSFT's labor costs have begun to creep up.

Having a growing pool of dot.com's in the neighborhood, like Amazon.com and Drugstore.com, probably doesn't help in an already (extremely) tight labor market.

I'm holding MS, but am not buying.

I took advantage of the recent dips, and bought some Intel stock at 73+ on Friday.
