The ethically-challenged duo adjust their deception, because nothing was wrong:

THE CLINTONS' MORTGAGE for their New York home is being restructured.

Negotiations are under way to revise the terms of a $1.4 million loan for the Westchester County house by reducing or eliminating the role of presidential friend Terry McAuliffe. The loan has been criticized because it was secured by McAuliffe, a Democratic money man who is raising funds for the first lady's Senate campaign.

Nobody is expected to replace McAuliffe, who agreed to deposit $1.3 million with Bankers Trust to back the home loan. One possibility is for the Clintons to make a larger down payment.
The first couple began considering a new loan structure after news reports about their arrangement with McAuliffe prompted several mortgage lenders to offer to provide the loan without requiring a personal guarantee.

Settlement on the house isn't expected until early November.

No personal guarantee, huh? I wonder what influence they are buying and how far under market rates they will set the loan this time.
