Dear GV: I know nothing personally but that comment seems to fly in the face of every other comment regarding PC demand at least originally expected up to the quake. JDN

GV - Re: "With units booked at almost 31M in early September, over the last couple of weeks, Intel has suffered through about 2M in debookings, with units currently below 29M"

Isn't the 31M number - assuming it means 31 Million Processors - EXCEPTIONALLY LARGE for ne quarter's worth of processors ?

Intel has been estimated to be shipping about 26 to 27 million CPUs/quarter.

Even with a CUTBACK from 31 Million to 29 Million, that STILL represents STRONG UNIT GROWTH.

Paul

Don't know anyway I can confirm or deny that - I do know that a lot of companies (like Circuit City) are reporting very strong PC demand. I wonder if this might be a way to CYA after the strong batch of "glowing" comments about INTC earlier in September. Remember when Merrill Lynch and everybody else couldn't say enough good things about INTC. Every analyst was falling over their feet trying to upgrade and praise INTC. I doubt if things will be as bad (or as good)as they expect.
