my msdw broker just called me.
he listened to mark edelstone in a conference call less than an hour ago.
edelstone says this is out of line. the fact that one motherboard is bad means nothing. there are still 185 good motherboards.

I agree completely. The suggestion that the mere presence of the 3rd slot causes problems could only relate to poor implementation of the motherboard traces. Rambus recommend that motherboard designers include test coupons for checking the transmission line impedance. Such a problem could only occur if the board characteristics were way out of specification and the manufacturer chose to ignore this. It seems unlikely that a reputable company would do this.
