However, Scott Marshell a long time Newbridge VP left to take over as VP of Access at cisco.

Scott left NN b/c was replaced by B.Jerves. The guy who has big contribution to NN 50 and 320/450 Gbit switch, and much more.
S. Marshall was hired by CSCO six months later, what tells me he was looking for a job.

and question the "left to take over" part of Scott Marshell's move. If I am correct Scott left and then after a period of time moved to Cisco.
