Doesn't mean a thing. Oil price increase has two effects at least. One is deflationary which the FED will neutralize and the other, is increased demand for T-Bond which will be neutralized when it is recognized that the ever increasing level of inflation to which we think we can adapt, will not go away.

I hear a lot 'o guys say we are in deflation. What they mean is we are in a near term slowing in the rate of inflation. They aren't even right about that. There is little slack left in the few remaining areas of economy not already inflating. The wealth effect has created a great tolerance for inflation. Time to eliminate wealth.
