Cisco seeks to almost double authorized shares

WASHINGTON, Sept 24 (Reuters) - Cisco Systems Inc. <CSCO.O>
said Friday it is seeking to almost double the number of its
authorized shares of common stock to 10 billion from 5.4
billion, a Securities and Exchange Commission filing said.
The company said the additional shares may be needed to
complete acquisitions or other corporate transactions as well
as for the company's stock option and purchase plans and for
other existing employee benefit plans.
Cisco asked its shareholders to approve the plan at the
company's annual meeting Nov. 10 in Santa Clara, Calif.,
according to its proxy.
The San Jose, Calif.-based company has 3.29 billion shares
outstanding as of Sept. 13, the filing said.
Cisco shares are down 1/2 to 68-7/8 in heavy trading on
Nasdaq.

Sector-If NAC needs the money, they will simply issue additional stock from the treasury and dilute all of the existing shareholders including MRVC,unless MRVC buys their proportional shares.
