I agree with you on that one, RDM ... BTW, what was the advertised frequency
of the system at Fry's ?? Looks like AMD has started
"eeking out" (tm McMannis) a few systems.

I called around for bids on a half dozen systems last week. They are widely available - IBM and Compaq, obviously, but also various third and fourth tier producers. Both MSI and FIC boards are available (in addition to IBM's and Compaq's - but then you have to buy from them in their configurations). I didn't care for the cases being offered by IBM or Compaq and went with a white box vendor who could match my specs exactly. The fact that he offered me a choice of Athlon motherboards, I think, says it all. Of course, this was before the quake which may put things on hold or even set the pace back by 2 to 3 weeks.
