Intel Corp. (INTC) 75 3/16 -2 5/16: chip maker sliding after BancBoston Robertson Stephens analyst, Dan Niles commented that, "Intel's stock is likely to face some pressure in the near-term due to decreased demand in the PC market."; he believes the company has seen about 2 mln order cancellations since mid-September; Taiwn earthquake could lead to problems towards Christmas.....

I think that Balmer has sold a couple hundred million dollars worth of stock in the past 5 or 6 years, cumulatively. He can afford to be cavalier about the stock. Plus, if the stock gets hit hard, his options will probably get vested at a lower price. And in any case, he is surely right about MSFT stock, at least. Of course, I said the same thing about 3 years and many many points ago.
