Subject: Stockwatch: Tahera Corp - News Release Date: Mon, 27 Sep 1999 13:25:32 -0700 Tahera appoints board members; exploration progress Tahera Corp TAH Shares issued 159,300,000 Sep 24 close $0.085 Mon 27 Sept 99 News Release Mr. Grant Ewing reports Tahera Corporation has appointed Andre Louw, BSc Hon, MBA, as a director of the corporation. Following the completion of certain regulatory matters, Mr. Louw will also be appointed president and chief operating officer. Mr. Louw brings a wealth of diamond operations and marketing experience to Tahera. Glenn Laing resigned as president and director of Tahera effective Sept. 23, 1999. Mr. Louw began his career as an exploration geologist in 1973, working at Okiep Copper Company Limited and African Selection Trust Exploration (Pty) Limited, a subsidiary of BP Minerals International Ltd. Following completion of his MBA, majoring in financial and strategic management, he worked as senior manager, mining investment research at Sanlam, South Africa's largest investment manager. From 1991 until 1999, Mr. Louw was managing director of ODM (Ocean Diamond Mining Holdings Limited). In addition to the above appointment, Roy Meade has been appointed as a director and deputy chairman of the corporation. Roy Meade, a professional mining engineer with 26 years experience in the mining industry, is president and chief executive officer of Nelson Gold Corporation Limited, and will provide technical expertise as co-ordinator of the Jericho diamond project feasibility study. Patricia Sheahan has been appointed as a director of the corporation. Ms. Sheahan is a geologist and president of Konsult International Inc., a technical information subscription service that serves a global list of mining clients. Ms. Sheahan's association with diamonds began in the early 1960s when she was involved with diamond exploration activities conducted by Selection Trust in the James Bay Lowlands area. She currently serves as a director for a number of other resource companies. The appointments of Mr. Louw and Ms. Sheahan to the board of directors are subject to shareholders approving an amendment to the corporation's articles that permit an increase in the number of directors of the corporation. The above appointments reflect Tahera's continued focus on developing its wholly owned Jericho diamond project, and continuing diamond exploration activities over its extensive and prospective landholdings. Exploration update Tahera's 1999 summer exploration program consisted of a comprehensive quaternary and geological mapping program, and an extensive glacial till and kimberlite float sampling program over the entire Jericho and Contwoyto regions. Ground geophysical surveys were also conducted over selected areas. In the Contwoyto region, an extensive kimberlite float train was mapped and sampled over an area encompassing 18 kilometres in a north-south direction, and up to three kilometres wide in places. One kimberlite, the Contwoyto-1 pipe, has been discovered thus far in the Contwoyto region. The abundance of kimberlite float collected and the aerial extent over which it has been mapped, coupled with the extensive number of kimberlite indicator minerals present in the area indicates that additional kimberlites may be present in the Contwoyto region. In addition to two specific target areas identified thus far in the Contwoyto region, four site specific areas in the Jericho region have been selected for kimberlite target generation. Following completion of sample processing and data interpretation, kimberlite targets will be prioritized for a winter exploration drilling program. Processing of the Contwoyto-1 minibulk sample is progressing, with results expected in October. Feasibility update The Jericho diamond project feasibility study is proceeding. SRK Consulting Engineers are performing environmental, resource optimization, and mine design studies, and DRA (mineral plant design engineers) will provide a detailed diamond plant and mine infrastructure design for incorporation in the feasibility study. Associated Mining Consultants will provide mining cost analysis and tie together the various elements of the study. Tahera plans to provide a more detailed update on the feasibility study during the fourth quarter. (c) Copyright 1999 Canjex Publishing Ltd. canada-stockwatch.com
