There is sort of a subtext in Ballmer's statements that the msft growth curve is steady... meaning no internet related hypergrowth ahead. Most of the other guys (even the big co's like Sun) are saying the internet is going to explode the growth curve like there is no tomorrow. Msft has a bit of a problem in the inet content area anyway... I'd like to see a little enthusiasm from those guys for a change.

BTW, I changed my name from Michelle Harris... software is back, want to be anonymous...

I don't know why Ballmer said that, he probably should just say nothing. I think it was the comments Ballmer made to answer questions after conference. Nobody paid much attention at the conference but financial media put it in every headlines. The market may just need something for a correction, and Ballmer's word happened to provide such. It maybe anybody's words in that matter. Ballmer does have the record of talking straight, remember "To hack, Reno?"

But I am not concerned, not by his words like that.
