Thanks. I know this isn't material to BRK's book value. I'm investigating for understanding, only. And unfortunately, none of my news sources go back that far. Do you recall the nature of the problem?

At a lunch table discussion someone said that it was related to GIC's, maybe with a put feature. The implication (pure surmise on my part) is that the general manager or Cologne left it improperly hedged. I'm interested in finding out how they could have blown what seems to be a fairly simple hedging issue.

(I'm so used to finding the info I need on the web--but maybe this one is a little esoteric)
