dumbmoney,

PC133 will last at least a year. A year is a LONG time. In 2001, who knows?

There's no such thing as a knife-edge transition. PC133 will probably last 2 years. It took that long for SDRAM to finally make it into all levels of systems (the transition began in mid-1996 and didn't end until early 1998). It started in the high-end machines, then worked it's way down. Just like whatever replaces it will do. PC133 may even last a little longer in the very low, low-end machines. But there's nothing magic about SDRAM. It will be replaced eventually; the main issue here is which technology will do it.
