Charles,

Re: "700Mhz coppermines"

I suspect you and the register may have it backwards.

There was going to be a 733 and NO 700's as i understood it.

Now our pals from Intel may well go to 700/750 with Bx chipset and 810E chipsets.

And remember the Camino was gonna support PC100 with SDRAM thru the MTH........this may still happen on the screwed up boards- I had heard initial Intels would support either PC100(via MTH) or RDRAM.

This whole confusing mess will take till Monday (at least) to clarify.

I suspect that as there was no announcement, engineers are working overtime to figure out the facts. And the spinmeisters are already planning the spin for Monday.

Should be pretty interesting watching this crap unfold.

If I hadn't been long 3K shares of Rambus I would be enjoying this fiasco.

regards,

Kash

Chuck - RE: "The first time this rumor sufaced was in Register or some such place with questionable reporting. Promptly ignored by most, I am sure."

Aha, at The Register. Here is the link you are probably reffering to -

theregister.co.uk

"Don't have the patience otherwise I would dig it up for you."

No need to be patient. Alls you gotta do is type the word "Delay" in their search engine. FOUR of the first five "hits" were Intel related! Seriously!
