I'll put money on it, that if your disks are for Windows 98 it will work. I can't see that printer working only with the 610 model. I have a Citizen Printiva and it will run under model 600 and 700 with no problem, also my HP laser will run under other printers other than a 4P.

Epson or IBM Proprinter should even work to do basic printing.

If you were using Windows 98 and upgraded to Win98 SE there should be no problem, if you upgraded from Win95 to Win98 you may need Win98 drivers from Canon.

OR use the 600 or the 600e printer model instead.

Cheeky Kid, mr.mark and all who spent a bunch of their time trying to help me..Guess what, it was the Parallel Port that was the culprit. I purchased a new one and bingo the printer works as advertised. Now all I have to do is figure out why my Win98 doesn't completely shut down. It hangs on the blue shut down window. Thanks a bunch.
