Richard... CPQ chimed in as well

Compaq Computer's Jim Cortese confirmed the problem. Compaq had planned to announce support for the 820 on Monday and actual computers on October 25, but now those plans have been delayed indefinitely, he said.
Compaq planned to use Rambus in its high-end DeskPro line and its workstation models. "Clearly, those are going to be delayed," Cortese said. He couldn't immediately say how many of the systems already have been built.

Richard I agree.

For 2 years I have been reading B.S. panic comments from mostly people who were short. I have been pretty bullish on this stock, but always felt the market would murder this 300 P/E stock if anything went wrong. If this is all Fud you will need a bigger bag. Maybe I am finally getting my biggest concern and question answered.. Why were there so few Big player brokerage house following this stocks.

regards

Don

If this turns out to be a fud attack, not even my heavy bag will help

i just kicked mine into the pool....from the garage.

just received this insightful e-mail.

Can I take a wild stab at all this? There is only one OEM having trouble with Rambus but that one is so big that Intel will take the gaff for them to give them a chance to fix their problem. I believe that the HWP launch is completely ligit as they have all the testing equipment that anyone would need. That leaves us with IBM, Compaq & DELL. IBM has never recently said anything. Compaq was going to release Monday but now says they will delay that announcement. That leaves DELL who mistakenly put up a configuration for Omniplex Computers. That was removed as quickly as it appeared. Dell also makes their own Motherboards. I think they are a big enough Intel customer to cause a delay that would effect all the other OEMs in order to fix their problem. If it isnt in the 820 chipset I dont think HWP has any problem .

Thanks again for all the information. This whole story would make one hell of a movie. Nobody would believe it.
