Ed: Nothing special or mysterious about my core holding average price, just took a position in a great company several years back and have never sold it. When one actually calculates the tax savings on long-term capital gains, buy-and-hold becomes very difficult to beat. Nothing has changed about the company, their business plan/execution or the business environment that would cause me to change my mind. Holding such a large profitable position also allows me to use my margin to buy my trading shares, something I never did until about 4-5 months ago when Dell became just too cheap to ignore. I believe the long-term outlook for this stock is very rosy, especially in light of the coming consolidation in the PC biz which I believe will leave Dell at the top tier. JMO. Good luck and aloha.
