>Jeff is holding onto his shares.

If you think that Bezos, who was a former HEDGE FUND MANAGER, has not locked in his billions of profits, i've got some beachfront property in alabama i'd like to offer you.

I've always considered Amazon to be optimistically valued but never completely disconnected with reality (with the possible exception when it hit $200 pre-split, and when they failed to post profits after the stellar X-mas quarter last year). But my latest experience with Amazon as a customer is making me reconsider that.

I ordered three items over the summer. The first one was listed as "usually ships in 1-2 days" the other two as "usually ships in 1-2 weeks".

The first item arrived four weeks after ordering it, the second five weeks after. The third one I cancelled the order today, eight weeks after placing it.

You would think that after over a quarter billion bucks spent in warehouses and software, they could (a) ship items timely, (b) charge less than $12 for shipping a CD a mere 500 miles north and (c) have their software update estimated shipping times so that other customers are not disappointed as I was, (the item ordered eight weeks ago and cancelled today still appears as "usually shipping in 1-2 weeks").

Makes you wonder if these guys have their act together.

Mark,
It's true that Bezos hasn't sold any stock since last November, but if your naive enough to think MS hasn't hedged him? I've got Brex-mining stock certificates that I'd love to sell you.:-)
Ps
Remind me to tell you the Tom Alberg story sometime. I know him well. He used to work for Craig McCaw who also went to Stanford. Trust me on that.

Mark, TA-wise, the DOW looks horrible, SPX looks horrible. Only Nasdaq looks OK. Thinking 1150 on SPX and 9500 on the DOW. Ouch!
Any thoughts?
