You're wasting your time mocking him. He'd never know that you're talking about Robert Byrd of West Virginia.

How interesting that you should mention Virginia. I happen to live here. It is true that there is a disproportionate number of our residents on the federal payrole, but I can easily explain that. First, the city of Alexandria houses the majority of the federal workers in Washington. It is a nice, clean city with good schools (as opposed to Washington itself) and many with the means to do so whish to live in Virginia (or Maryland) and commute to Washington. Second, the city of Norfolk has (due to it's geography) the largest naval yard in the world and the largest private shipbuilding company.
Furthermore, you should know that Bird is from West Virginia. There is a difference. I do not defend his actions, but do not attribute all pork to liberals. When questioned about his support for the superconducting supercollider in texas, Phil Gram said, "I'm carrying so much pork, I'm beginning to get trichinosis."
