Why does this group have to make "bad guys" like TLC and "good guys" like Jenna?

Why can't we just learn alot from everyone? I have learned alot from both and value both. I thought TLC mentioned he didn't mean anything per se by it and apologized. Did you mention that part? That sure is humbling if I ever have seen anything. Have you ever had to apologize on threads after you send a post you wish you hadn't of but you know you can't cause you just pressed that button too fast? Cause of passion? I sure have. If you haven't you might want to consider doing one and see how it feels ......it helps develop that wonderful trait of humility you are so fond of.

And I may feel that way about this post...certainly this group has an attack/defend mode I think is certainly stullifying for anyone offering certain viewpoints. I know pablem(sp) is more pallitable but I don't find it usually helps me progress much in trading.

I learned a great deal and had some really interesting thoughts about TLC's post (where is someone sticking up for him if this is so "unbiased?" (maybe there is a post coming up I haven't read).

What is the difference between "smug" and "good confidence" based on results?? Why does it bother you? I thought the delivery was "amusing" and not "not palatable"......And what exactly does humble look like?

Why are there "sides?"

Why are YOU taking sides? I feel like I am in high school again......

I think I have learned a great deal from Jenna and TLC and I would hate to see him not post because people are "picking sides" and such...

I like to get as much good stuff from everyone.

I'll tell a war story.....

I was on the INTC thread a couple of years ago. On it was this 35 year veteran very successful "semi-retired" trader. (try to find someone willing to give their time and experience to all us "babes in the woods" of trading/they usually don't bother with us/that was why it was such a great thing/they do not "waste their time" with us/they would be crazy most of them to do so).

The thread loved his insightful comments until one day. INTC started the first drop it had ever had in a couple of years or so (before that it went up like a watch winder) and it didn't look good. This trader told the long term holders how to protect their years of profits and splits and such when it started to fall. He told them to buy options so there were protected cause he could see the writing on the wall when it started.

He also told them about during options week that INTC is one of the most "pegged" of stocks (meaning the MM hold it in a certain range to keep it from being profitable on either side of the option)...well I had never heard of this! (I was new to the realities of manipulation in stocks/and there were many disbeleivers). (Also now I have this to be very true from a couple of top traders and INTC isn't the only one). And I watch some to see and sure enough more likely than not....

Well, things were just "peachy" when this superb veteran trader was telling this INTC devotees what they wanted to hear..AND INTC was doing great ...but when he "suggested protection" of which I remember became a severe downtrend of 40 points I believe of INTC they became incensed at him. And of course each downdraft point and larger and larger loss made them more irrational and furious and looking to strike out at someone and so they picked this "bringer of bad news messenger" who was only trying to help them through his experience, and if they had taken the cotton out of their ears and head and taken his advice they would have been completely safe from their investment of which some by this time had l0,000 shares accumulated and each point down mean l0,000, l0,000, l0,000.......

OH! the moaning and groaning began! And the blaming and the FLAMING.......not one of these people took the protection advice because they did not want to believe this could happen and when it did the s*** hit the fan! And they aimed it at this great trader cause he was the messenger.

And the trader who had good self esteem said.....forget this who needs this and left the thread and those traders/investors to their own misery and reality. And he stopped teaching them......

And I thought......what a terrible waste!! What a terrible waste of wisdom and I was furious that a bunch of cry babies who were given help that would have saved them instead put the blame on him instead of looking into the trader's mirror and said...."this is all my own doing. I had a chance to save myself but I didn't. This man was trying to help me with good advice from all the years of learning and I didn't take it, so it is MY FAULT not the messenger. And I will file this and never let this happen again if I get out of this alive." (and this guy didn't write a huge thick book either)

I mourned the loss of his wisdom and I would miss the loss of TLC's wisdom. I don't know AMS about your wisdom but if you have any I would miss yours too. Take wisdom where you can get it and view the most "unpallitable" as a friend in disguise there to show you perhaps what you don't want to look too closely in the trader's mirror and see.....it saves you from having to acquire it first hand and in this business that can sometimes be lethal.....

Just my unhumble opinion
