What gossips? Wouldn't it be just as easy for me to make a post saying there were gossips that Ebay's quarter was going to be disappointing? If you think about it - there is a chance that Ebay lost a week's worth of revenue and profit from the free auction day - and the company has probably had to spend quite a bit of money this quarter on building it's server infrastructure and augmenting customer service due to outages. All of this could have a negative impact on net income.

Notting Hill, it would be great if you could be more responsible with your posts - if you have heard gossips about a good quarter, state the source. Otherwise, you present yourself as one that is trying to pump up the stock price.

Thanks,
-Eric Wells

eBay's quarter is NOT going to be huge. Not a chance.

eBay will show about 20 percent sequential growth, as we all know from paying attention to the auction counts...

If anything, the report will be disappointing, when you consider eBay's huge stock valuation.
