The potential long term returns on even 2k [in a Roth IRA account] are incredable.

There's one potential bugaboo to keep in mind when investing in
a Roth IRA or other after-tax saving accounts. The federal sales
tax (to replace the federal income tax) that is being promoted by
the FairTax organization would be imposed on the ultimate expenditure
of those savings, thus resulting in a double federal taxation.

Recently two congressmen appeared on CNBC promoting the federal
sales tax. When Bill Griffeth asked about citizens' concerns about a
federal sales tax on monies that had already been federal-income-taxed,
the congressmen said that we are "too mired in the present system"
and that we should "be thinking of our grandchildren."

I'm in favor of the simpler concept of a federal sales tax but not
when it imposes significant double taxation.

Just my opinion.
