Isn't anyone else a bit re-assured (in taking a long position) by ALL the people calling for a drop? In the back of BEARon's they have the talking heads from different funds, market timing letters, etc every week. They are ALL bearish right now. I have only been reading BEARon's for about 2 years, but ALL bearish has been a decent indicator during that time frame of at least a good near-term bottom. Further, the option guy also see's it the way I see it - we have moved up every time the VIX has hit 30.

Oh well, FWIW considering I am 95% long (65% of that with Buffett - BRK - who has 1/2 equity in bonds and cash or about 1/3 the share price in cash and bonds), I might be seeing what I want to see.

Fabian's newsletter has called every market downtrend successfully since its inception in April 1977. On October 15,1987, Fabian called a ''switch'' into money funds, and became one of only five newsletters who were out of the market before the ''Black Monday'' 1987 crash.

What A Crock!!

There were a whole lot more than "only five" newsletters that were "out of the market" before the 1987 Crash -- and most of them got out well before October 15th.

(E. g., Zweig, Weinstein, Lowry's, Russell, Crawford, etc., etc.)

And Fabian's called quite a few of those "market downtrends" right about at their bottoms, too.

The Fabulous Fabian has been a great one for tooting his own horn through the years, but I liked him a lot better when he was a teen-age idol back in the late 1950's.

Just my opinion...

P. S. This is not directed at you, Les; your post with its links to interesting and timely informations was, as always, very much appreciated.
