Just finished reading all of the posts, and this was just for one day. Unbelievable! They were wonderful! I laughed, I cried, I shared a moment. No seriously, they were great. Some of them should be filed away under brilliant thoughts. So good to have everyone back...Blue, KLP, and Peach. We've had a hard time holding down the fort what with the stock market acting like a sick puppy, people jumping out of airplanes with nothing on their minds or their bodies. We've had other strange occurrences too, but sharks survive. Blue, I'm sure that you always got the cutest girls, don't you think that your brother would agree? Joanie, loved your thought provoking posts and your humor.
KLP sorry that you've had the flu. I think everyone all around the country has it. I'm sure that doesn't make you feel any better, but I thought misery loves company, so invite a sick person over and party! Peach, you'd better put your robe back on, or you'll end up worse too. Don't sit to close to that screen, no telling who is watching.
Joe, Old Star Trek reruns? You can do better......BG Rudi

Am so glad you made it safe and in one piece thru it, so many didn't and so many others were so shattered from it they still haven't climbed much further up the growing-up mountain til this day. I'm guessing there's many who still climb it fine because of You, more than you'll ever be able to know.

BLUE and all Techriders,

"CBS This Morning" is having a Techride morning!

First, they had a very good segment on SETI. Then they showed a very beautiful segment on ELK in the high country of Colorado (if you leave out the people).

Jack Welch, founding astronomer of SETI program, showed a long SPIKE on the SETI screen on CBS Sunday Morning today. Spike looked as Nice as Happy Memories viewing past stock charts after sold the shares at The Pop, timed it right, now wondering if it's time to jump back on, looks!. OMEN?
Dr. Welch, who is the only seated professor doing ET research (he's at Berkeley) said This Spike Is What Seti's looking for as a sign of extraterrestrial communication from eons ago. While they don't expect to find any current E.T. signals from up-close (Of Course Not!!) they're looking for signals which travelled thru the light years of space originating from back in the past reaching us much later. He also said while he isn't a bit afraid of hostile aliens targeting us for an invasion, others are worried about this project possibly attracting their attention. Now they're trying to raise funds to put 1,000 signal receiver dishes on a square mile 2C so maybe they can get something. SETI targets specific stars with Building Blocks Of Life in their atmosphere in hopes of discovering something that may have happened (like a galactic war) from ages in the past.
Here's Blue's original post with news & link to Seti@Home Screensaver & details...... #reply-10377760 - this is the Official Techride Screensaver so fascinating & beautiful.
The next segment of the show was folks picnicing watching the Elks mating season or pro lingo "In Rut". The Older Bulls with the Biggest Horns collect a harem of Cows & herd 'em & fight off others trying to entice 'em away. CBS didn't show the grand finale but they did show a Big-Rack MachoGuy & a Purty SweetGal going behind a rock & then showed some modest pictures of dewy daisies with romantic music so anyone really paying attention got the idea. Nicely done. No wonder this magnificent sight attracts such a crowd, and it didn't seem to bother the Elk. Could Be it was a turn-on for 'em, all kidding aside. Whose the more attractive animal, yep thumbs-up for the Elk & that's embarassing. So it seems only fair to hope folks leave their shades open let The Elk see in to enjoy watching another species mating rituals. Maybe they'd make up their own pro lingo term for it like "MMMMMNNKCRRRREEEOOOOOOWEEEYRRRAAAAAKKRRAAAAAAH!!!"
