Even if they get half of the remaining seats, they will have a majority of 26 -- about the same kind of majority that the Janata Party, CFD et. al. had in 1977. And we know where they went! Quite a few parties with 15 to 20 seats will be there -- TDP, DMK, JD(U) (which in itself is made of 4 or 5 parties).

It will be interesting to see how "stable" the combo of '99 will be! I won't bet that it will be very different from the combo of '77. Because five years (why five, even one year) is a VERY VERY VERY LONG TIME in politics!
