T et. al. could keep the @home infrastructure to be the conduit to the cable companies and AOL could leverage the Excite portal and content. It would, however, be an admission by Armstrong et. al. that the @home/XCIT merger was the wrong move -- would only expect to see that happen if AOL made a very rich offer for XCIT. The potential addition of competitive ISP revenue to @home might pave the way for T to begin to realize its mission to be the tollway to the home for phone, internet, and services via cable. Tollways work best when lots of traffic passes thru. XCIT/ATHM alone won't deliver enough traffic fast enough to get T's share price on the upward path. JMHO
