BCE Emergis Sells TotalNet Inc. to PSINet Ltd.
Moves towards increased focus on Business to Business e-commerce transactions

BCE Emergis announced today that it has concluded an agreement with PSINet Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of PSINet Inc., to acquire TotalNet Inc., a Montreal-based Internet service provider and a wholly-owned subsidiary of BCE Emergis. BCE Emergis and PSINet will be working together to ensure a seamless transition for both TotalNet employees and customers.

"TotalNet, as it addresses primarily the consumer market, did not fit with our strategic business to business focus," said Brian Edwards, President and Chief Executive Officer, BCE Emergis. "Our customers and employees will be well-served by PSINet, and BCE Emergis will utilize the net proceeds of that transaction to fund a portion of the cash component for the acquisition of SNS/Assure and Assure Health announced last week."
