James regarding sin you and Mark discussed leave Paul's gospel and read the old testament. Then I ask you to explain if both Moses and God and his favorite people sinned or is sin just for the ones under your Spiritual law.

Don't you know that if the leading men of the Old Testament were living to-day, they would be known as liars, thieves, and murderers -- some indeed as monsters to whom even these terms would be base flattery. Despoilers of those who had not injured them; infamous liars in the name of God;
murderers of men; butchers of children; debauchers of women; if they were living in the nineteenth century they would be unanimously elected to the gallows -- that is if they escaped Judge Reno long enough. And yet they are held up to us, who have outgrown their morals, as authorities on the
subject of God's will to man, as Prophets, Saints, Mediators!

Deut. xx. 10-16
10 When thou comest nigh unto a city to fight against it, then proclaim peace unto it. [Good scheme!]
11 And it shall be, if it make thee answer of peace, and open unto thee, then it shall be, that all the people that is found therein shall be tributaries unto thee, and they shall serve thee.
12 And if it will make no peace with thee, but will make war against thee, then thou shalt besiege it:
13 And when the Lord thy God hath delivered it into thy hands, thou shalt smite every male thereof with the edge of the sword:
14 But the women, and the little ones, and the cattle, and all that is in the city, even all the spoil thereof, shalt thou take unto thyself; and thou shalt eat the spoil of thy enemies, which the LORD thy God hath given thee.
15 Thus shalt thou do unto all the cities which are very far off from thee, which are not of the cities of these nations.
16 But of the cities of these people, which the LORD thy God doth give thee for an inheritance, thou shalt save alive nothing that breatheth.

In other words ask them to surrender to you and if they don't do not dare to leave anyone alive.

How you accept the bible as God's word and then try to use it propounding degrees of wrong is beyond me. I do not think if you lived in one of those cities you would choose a God like that.

The Christ that Paul & I know had no relation to the God conceived by the inspired writers of the old testament.

This post is not for argument purposes. It is to try to get you to think and reason before believing. Try to search for
God with the bible blinkers off where it doesn't hamper your vision.

James,

I am not sure that I can agree with that either. In everyone's life there are times where they get angry. Work may be going poorly, you might have a bad headache, or your relationships aren't going in the direction that you would like. In the midst of these problems, small occurrences can get the best of us, it is human nature.

If your wife accidently cuts someone off in traffic, and that person, in the midst of their own turmoil, attacks your wife, that is much different than their fantasizing about attacking your wife. the actual act is much worse than that of someone who has the presence of mind and self discipline to control their anger.
