Richard, unfortunately that's just a normal every day routine thing in China. Anyone who is a threat to the establishment is feared and so of course must be done away with. However, from what i've been hearing the Underground Christian Church is becoming very powerful over there.

History has proven that Christianity flourishes the best when it's pressed almost beyond measure.

Chris

First they outlawed that Buddhist sect. Now they're starting in on the unregistered Christians. Plus there has been saber rattling at Taiwan recently. Things are definitely heading in a bad direction there.

Still that isn't as bad as what's been happening in East Timor lately, which is a Catholic ex-Portugese colony taken over by Indonesia. Indonesian Moslems have hacked a whole lot of East Timorese to death with machetes and driven several hundred thousand from their homes. Fortunately, UN troops are now on the scene so one can hope the worst is over. The ones who may be in the most continuing danger are the two hundred thousand that fled into West Timor. There they are unprotected by the UN. I haven't noticed the plight of East Timorese Christians mentioned yet on Ask God.

Talk about your anti-Christian persecution. What's happening there is a whole lot worse than having to read unbelieving and offensive opinions on the internet. Wait a minute - if all sins are precisely equal (a recent topic of conversation), maybe it's not(?). Nah.
