Picking the over and under put the games in such different perspective. All one needs to root for is more and more scoring, or for dominating defenses. The Jax/Tenn game is likely to be over 45.5 and 49ers/Zona under 45.5

Hi Thomas,
I like the Titans just on the basis of their OL and Eddie George. It's tough with O'Donnell in there but they won today. I figured 9.5 points over a division rival having possibly the best ground game in the NFL is a bad call. The weather sure didn't hurt in the end did it?

I think that if Plummer avoids INTs against SF that the Cards win. Is it true that the Cards have a better front 7 than the Saints? That could make for a rough outing for Young. AZ was supposed to be down and out but losing to one of the AFC favorites 16-19 doesn't seem to indicate a weak team. On the other hand, barely beating a division rival at home - a division rival you used to trounce - that could indicate trouble for SF (speaking of last week's game againt N'arlens).

I'm certainly happy today that they released Hanks and picked up that dud ... eh... dude from Green Bay.

THE SEAHAWKS D MADE A BIG STATEMENT TODAY.

I had to get that off of my chest <g>.

Who would have thought Denver would be the AFC West dormats at this point? Stack the line and make Griese beat you and he can't... at least not yet.

That dude from the Arena leagues playing on the Rams has a quick release and it seems to be serving him well thus far. It certainly has been a long drought for Rams' fans. Is this the beginning of something big?

The new offensive coordinator for Minn needs to throw more bombs... it reminds me of a few years back when Davis of the Raiders had the speediest receiver corps in the nfl and eschewed the bomb in favor of the west coast offense.

Speaking of the "West Coast Offense," Seattle's was adequate today. Dawkins is a good fit and the return of Pritchard has been a real help. The FB -Reggie Brown - had a 10-yard run today so maybe they'll feed him the ball on the ground some more.

They do lack that outside speed but if the guys they do have start breaking tackles and getting yards after the catch, they might not need Galloway. Kitna hit 5 different receivers for his first 5 completions. He had 9.6 yards per attempt today and almost 15 per completion. He's got a sore foot and still makes some bad decisions, but he and Foley have managed to keep their QB ratings high.

Watters proved his toughness if nothing else. 29 carries for 98 yards.... 3 yards and a cloud of dust...

The BUS had 39 yards on 11 carries if I remember right. 20 of those were on 1 carry where he was no longer a factor. THE D IS HERE.

Please excuse the ALL CAPS but it's been a long time since a Seattle D has smothered an opposing offense like that. They had something like 6 tackles for losses, 2 sacks, and 5 INTs. Watching the 'Hawks lose last year under Erickson versus this year's performance is like night and day. I think Holmgren's people called a great game on both sides of the ball, and the special teams went from being special ed to being simply special.

The kickoff return by the rookie RB (looks like a nice draft pick all in all, so far at least) gave the 'Hawks a 14-0 lead before Kitna and the offense ever took the field. Hanks had a chance to show his new TD dance a few plays prior to that.

GO SEAHAWKS!!

FWIW
Andy
