<<<Anyone hear anything on split news?>>>
Not me, but you have an excellent point in that predicting a split can be very lucrative. Check recently on Gtw, Dclk, Txn etc.
where if one can get in just before the split is announced.
IMO both Qcom and Yhoo are now getting close to price
range for splits to be considered. Sig

There is no split news although I see some of the momo guys report "rumors". I do not expect a split until the next annual meeting in February. There are not enough shares for a split of any magnitude; only 300 million shares are authorized and there are something close to 200 million outstanding or reserved for options. Additional shares will have to be authorized. Depending on the price of the shares, I would expect a 2 or 3 for 1 and maybe as high as 4 for 1. It is possible that an announcement could be made early contingent on shareholder approval; I don't think the company will waste money on a separate meeting after November 2nd and before the February annual meeting, although I guess it could roll the proxy statement mailing into the 4th Quarter report. I just don't think it's that important to push the split. There are so many developments that are possibilities between now and February, I frankly think the split would have greater positive effect on the market later than sooner. But, the last split announcement did come around the current price level, although it took effect at about 220 as I recall. So I could be wrong.
