James,
I'm pretty sure AOL liquidated its Excite holdings soon after the merger was announced. It amounted to a huge one-time capital gain in that quarter. Good luck.

<< Does anybody think that the WCOM/Sprint merger possibility increases the chances of a broadband deal being done with ATT and AOL?......>>

Yes I do. I had not thought of that before but now that you mention, I agree with your viewpoint.

I am not sure if this ATT/AOL/Excite is a rumor or not. All that I hope is that AOL should proceed quickly on this deal before MSFT gets in and messes things up. MSFT is surely on the prowl to wrest the initiative from AOL and become a leader in the Internet arena.

So AOL must act on this which has been in the making for some time now.
