A lot of prominent people were fooled by Charles Keating, and McCain has never been found to have engaged in any wrongdoing. McCain is also a war hero. Aren't there stories now that top Texas politicos pulled strings to keep Junior Bush home during Vietnam? Isn't willful evasion of the Selective Service Laws a crime? Gore at least can begin sentences with "When I served in Vietnam.." What can Bush say?: "I know action, boys. We used to pretend that the Vietcong were attacking Houston" Hypocrite? I don't see Bush issuing clemency to convicted drug users in Texas because they were "youthful" at the time of the offense. In fact, he stiffened penalties, making sure that those who acted in the same way he did when young will never have the same opportunities he now enjoys. He also never comes across as intelligent. But I guess that's subjective, eh?
