agreed, Michael on all your counts...i think the popularity of index funds are partially that so many have been burned thru other methods, i.e. listening to brokers or buying mutual funds...its worse here in canada, eh, where our mer's are higher and overall mkts have not kept up with yours...

otoh, there probably are other index funds besides the main ones that people could and should consider, i.e. webs or mid cap indexes, depending on of course, mkt conditions...

To All, Hooray for the US Ryder Cup Team. I already had a scathing letter to the local sports editor in rough draft, explaining what a bunch of bobos these guys were. Sure glad they came back, but it was a great letter. <g>
