It sounds very nice. Of course, there are quite a number of streets in Manhattan where one cannot swing a cat without hitting a restaurant, some better than others. And one cannot always tell what the quality of the food will be by the ambiance. One of the best Greek restaurants I had been to, about 20 years ago, was a hole in the wall not far from Circle in the Square in the Village. It was very cheap, a high turnover affair, but delicious souvlaki and other things. Unfortunately, it has been gone for quite awhile. On the other hand, the Italian restaurant that disappointed me this summer was fancy!...This is a good time to mention that there is often a price break in fancier restaurants if one orders from the pre- theater (or fixed price) menu before seven, rather than a la carte. Depending upon the restaurant, a four- course dinner will go between 25 and 50 dollars pre- theater, that may go for twice as much a la carte...
