According to article they read to me, Toprani specifically mentioned that a software fix would be a suitable solution for the problem. Doug> Maybe he was quoted in a different article or maybe it was a private Schwab thing. There is a lot of programmability in a Rambus channel. Things like TPARM which gets programmed to equalize round trip read delay to all devices. If this progamming is wrong then the channel would be flakely. But it's very unlikely that this would be the cause of the currently problems.
