I think probably repatriation, flowing westward across the Pacific. -g-

World money flows is fascinating to mull over, because it's got to have an effect if capital is leaving US markets. Everyone knows that Europeans and the Japanese have been big buyers of US equities, and importantly, USG bonds.

That "giant sucking sound" that H.Ross opined about may be the sound of money leaving the US for greener pastures overseas, as the risk/reward ratio gets more favorable for Europe/Japan than the US.
