Well, it looks like VIKE really is a scam:

From Aug 4,1999 PR:

President Rick Brodzik stated, "Completion of the Form 10SB was a significant team effort. The delay in its acceptance is an unfortunate occurrence but it is only temporary. Shareholders can rest assured that Viking will take steps to see that it is resolved as quickly as humanly possible. We will remain in constant contact with the SEC to make sure everything is being done to complete the process. Until these issues are resolved, Viking will trade under the symbol VIKE."

Then this from the SEC:

Re: Viking Exploration Inc./Form 10-SB

Dear Sirs:

This letter is occasioned by the receipt by Viking of a comment letter from your Division related to Viking's Form 10-SB filed August 3, 1999. We appreciate the timely response of your division to this filing.

As a result of the filing date, the 60 day comment period will pass
before Viking will be able to address the comments. Accordingly, Viking hereby withdraws its aforesaid Form 10-SB filing pending resolution of the pending comments.
