Howdy Blue, Bill sure does know his stuff but hoping he isn't right about things having gone so far as he says. We saw it months ago, surely those in charge & receiving more information than we can get saw it before that. So many different scents in the wind, so many trails. The Big Question is, can the imbalances/accountings correct on their own by "them" playing it straight arrow for awhile, or is it beyond hope for that? Methinks the shysters would have either skedaddled by now - or hung in there glad of getting some time under the radar to straighten up & fly right. One thing I might disagree with Bill about is - dunno why would there need to be a BearMarket to correct the situation, with people hollering they been snookered after a crash? The Bears aren't entitled to it, who would allow them to be the ones to profit from their own side's mischief at the expense of the rest of the country? It doesn't make sense. Methinks The Powers That Be might be thinking so too, if it came down to deciding whether or not to permit WS to go under in our times as the scenario describes. We got folks saving for retirement expecting lesser Soc. Sec. benefits, got this generation coming back into the market honestly in unprecedented numbers. So methinks the gummint would draw the line at allowing economic chaos to occur toppling the social order. Maybe those new accounting rules coming up for valuation of techs intangible intellectual property as hard assets (in Nov., now where did I read that?) might be just the ticket to save face all around. But a BULL RALLY is what's needed to get shareowners to sell 'em the shares they need, why should honest investors be the ones screaming? Manips should have plenty shenanigans money in the pocket to payout the higher price for 'em... the majority playin' it straight all along would think the last thing they'd want would be disruption of their bread & butter caused by some rule-breakers especially. Surely the normalcy of a Rally after all this would benefit them too.
