I think it unlikely that MSFT would let something like that happen without giving a warning or doing something. They would sued to no end and it would probably mean the end of the company as an ongoing concern within five years because CIO's would do everything possible to find substitutes. You can believe that SUNW, NOVL, APACHE, Redhat and others would be bigtime benificiaries.

I think SI shut that guy down because he was making some big time accusations without providing hard proof. He was also advertising/selling a product that would "fix" this MSFT created Y2K problem. We all should be aware that the Y2K scammers are about and we hear stories about people turning over their Credit Card Numbers and all sorts of stuff already. It is only going to get worse as we get closer to the big day.
