Y2K...earlier last week, I posted a tidbit re:Y2K on the MDA thread to get perspective. My motvation being somethng I saw on TV...If 1- 1 1/2 percent of the folks decide to pull money out of the bankng system, weez in some trouble cuz the feds ain't got enough money in supply...so the printing presses are cankin away as we "speak"...

yes, the financial institutions may be the most fully prepared for the upcoming year, but if the lights are turned out, oh boy...

third world countres happens to be the wild card. where are they for preparedness?

An area to potentially benefit from might be the oil sector as rising prices induced form cutback in production already in place, and perhaps, Y2K repurcussions for major spikes in oil costs makng for opportunity?

the software producers...are consumers hesitating on buying pending the outcome of y2k???...and will sales soar after y2k quietly passes?
just two areas, there's more...

it's a flip of the coin, although I'm sure we'll see some type of selloff as CNBC will certainly capitilize on this issue as we near the date, and instill fear into many.

meanwhile, to maintain REAL proper perspective, my daughter tells me that cows produce milk from eating fake grass from my fake Ficus tree...! and that I promised her I'd put the choo-choo train set together for her today...and no longer is CNBC blaring in the background..Rather, Cartoon Network dominates...now, I gotta buy her a box of Lucky Charms...now Hot Wheels...not another Scooby Doo!?!...

thank god I was blessed with a beautiful daughter!
