<<selling gold for dollars doesn't make sense.>>

What's that got to do with it?<g>

It doesn't make much sense for Britain's CB to pre-announce their plan of selling a substantial percentage of their reserves...but that they did.

The recent political manipulation of the gold market has been extreme, and extremely suspect. IMHO, there's been collusion between the Euro CBs and Clinton, with the effort aimed at debasing gold. These latest pronouncements indicate a possible schism in that collaboration, which may bode ill for the dollar, and ultimately for our stock market.

With Clinton on his way out, could the EEC be positioning itself for a move to gain primacy, or at least a stronger position in the world's economy, by mounting an attack on the dollar?
