I've been an Iggle fan since the late 60's (Remember Norm Snead) ........... Unfortunately, there have been too many pathetic seasons since then as well as a few memorable ones but I still watch them every season. You can relate to this somewhat since the Falcons are your team.

Re: Rhodes - Average coach overall. He seemed to get the respect of his players and they played hard for him during the first three years. When it was evident that he gave up in '98, his team gave up as well. He took an underachieving team to the playoffs in '95 and '96. In comparing him to recent Eagles head coaches, I rank him below Dick Vermeil and Buddy Ryan and above Marion Campbell and Rich Kotite.

His lousy drafts finally caught up with him. (He shouldn't be allowed near the war room during draft day) He discarded good free agent talent (i.e. Romanowski) and it all caught up with him in '97. I saw the freefall in '98 coming before they even took the first snap of the season. If they win 3 this year they'll be fortunate.

Philly's problem wasn't Rhodes. Their problem is the ownership. As long as Jeff Lurie owns the team, they will be mediocre at best. Their facilities are second rate. The Vet is the worst field in the NFL. (Just ask any NFL player).
